One of the main crops on Amy Arnett-Smith’s organic farm on the north shore of Kauaʻi is “The Queen of Fruit”: mangosteen. A lover of luxury skin care products but all too aware that most commercial brands are full of endocrine-disrupting synthetic fragrances, thickeners, colorants and fillers, she created Utara Organics out of a personal need for chemical and toxin-free skin care products. Amy holds herself to high standards—all products are carefully hand made in small batches on Kauaʻi with her home-grown mangosteen.
